The City of
Coral Springs has been a “success story in
the making” since 1993. Under City Manager,
Mike Levinson, The City of Coral Springs
launched its quality initiative with a
mission to be "the premier city in Florida
in which to live, work and raise a family."
From that mission, the City Commission
developed six strategic priorities to focus
the daily efforts of all City employees, and
renewed its efforts to collect data on a
variety of performance measures. Eventually,
the City Commission developed its first
business plan flowing from these priorities
under Mike Levinson’s successful leadership.
For more than 15 years, the City of Coral
Springs has used the Malcolm Baldrige Award
as a platform for improving its "Key
Intended Outcomes" (or KIOs) for each of
their strategic priorities. They are now
reporting annually a total of 29 KIOs, as
well as several important measures of
success for each department.
In 2007, the City of Coral Springs became
the first municipality ever to receive the
prestigious Malcolm Baldrige Award. Learn
